No snow, not even a particularly heavy frost despite doom and gloom predictions from the Met Office.  There is very little cloud and the sky looks pretty clear.  Hopefully a sunny day to come

A very crispy and sharp -4c this morning a heavy frost and some weak sunshine on the hill.

1ºC, Bright, light blue sky and thin dusting of crisp snow making it quite nice - especially when viewed from in front of log burner.

Lucky you, for a change, they got it right for here, as yesterday evening we had a few inches of snow, and some of it is still lying It's cloudy and only 1C according the outside thermometer....

Fred looked out of the catflap and gave the frost a good telling off - I'm not proficient in Cat, but understood the gist of his complaint

Low grey cloud, a very hard frost and currently -5c. It might just be wishful thinking but I noticed yesterday the days are getting longer.

Crisp thin snow lying on the paths, temperature about freezing but a bright if not sunny day. Chickens refused to come out of the coop yesterday, so had breakfast in bed.

It’s been frozen solid here all day -5c was the forecast, not sure what it actually was but definitely not warm ( was very bright & sunny though which has been nice.

Mum always reckons she really notices the longer days at my brother's birthday in the middle of the month.

I'd been wondering how long it would take in these persistent low temperatures for my boiler's outside condensate pipe to freeze through completely (as it has done in the past). I found out this morning  Or, I think, probably mid-late evening yesterday on reflection.

Luckily I can detach the pipe from the boiler, so it discharges into a bucket underneath it, until the pipe thaws.

I've still not braved putting the CH on yet, I know something will go wrong with the boiler when I do, it always does. I can't face having to fix it at the moment, it's been happy providing hot water I don't want to risk that too.

This morning is a balmy -4c. The frost from yesterday did't thaw and its pretty solid this morning, add to that thick white mist/fog it's rather eerie out there. Not a lot of traffic on the road either for a Saturday, looks like most people are sensibly staying in doors !

Warmer at 4ºC, but the snow is still very crunchy as the ground is so cold. I looked out of the window at 4am. Absolutely magical! The bright moonlight reflecting from the snow and the sea.

Very cold this morning and the frost & ice are lingering despite the sunshine, it must be cold out there - the thermometer is too frosted up to read

The frost is even more today. Everything is frozen solid. It looks as if it has snowed but hasn’t, lots of cobwebs are visible & look beautiful.My trip out at 8a.m had me togged up & looking like the Michelin man, but I was toasty.
