Waterproofing shed
« on: August 02, 2014, 20:16 »
I have a tongue and groove wendy house which lets water in at the edges where the t&g meet. How can I make it waterproof?

Sounds like the boards have shrunk to be doing that. Best bet would be to take them off (from the top down) and refix them tighter together. Any gap now left at the top can be closed with a cover strip. SteveH

Then comes the rain and the winter and they swell again  :nowink: depending on how big a gap you could fill with transparent silicon

If is at the corners and there is a batten as a cover strip you can take it off and put a seal of silicon mastic there and put the batten back on.
Bear in mind that paint does not stick to silicon afterwards !

Silicone might work for a while but I wouldn't rely on it for long term on bare wood. Just a thought, but the boards are the right way up- tongue at the top- aren't they?
