[Mark's Sussex Allotment]

Hi all,

I planted out a watermelon about 2/3 weeks ago that is suited to our climate according to the garden centre I bought it from and it has moved, not grown an inch and is now starting to lose a bit of colour and turning a little yellow.

It’s outside, planted in a raised bed.

Any advice welcome.

Did you harden it off before planting it out? It would have been a big shock for it if you didn't.
I'd give it a liquid feed, make sure it doesn't dry out, and keep your fingers crossed

It was in the entrance of my poly tunnel for about 1 week with the door open, before planting out, and I did feed it with tomorite about a week ago. I’ll have a closer inspection tonight to see what’s going on

Mark it could be
Overwatering. Sometimes yellow leaves are simply an indication that the plant is receiving too much water. ... Without chlorophyll, the leaves turn yellow. Cantaloupe need 1 to 2 inches of water a week until fruit the fruit begins to grow, after which watering should be reduced.

most of my squash, patty pan and cucumber seedlings are also looking yellow and small. Think I've also been over watering, I'm going to leave them alone for a couple of days.
