Anyone out there got an idea what I can add to the butternut gloop I've made to reduce the sweetness before I bottle it?  Don't really want to use salt and had to make gloop as  there were signs of mould on the squashes.  Still they have lasted.     Cheers,   Tony.

I don't think it would Yorkie,  bring in a bit too much heat.  'Er indoors thinks I've overdone the black pepper (as always)!  I might try a test with some lemon juice. 

Next year I'll store them in a wardrobe rather than my unheated 'shed'.  Cheers,   Tony.

I want to keep the gloop in jars as we have gone from a chest freezer to an upright with the reduction in storage.  I've added a smidge of lemon juice  and the result is quite pleasant.    Cheers and thanks to all,    Tony.
