Just found another one, although not tried it out yet!

Heinz type tomato ketchup

One 6-ounce can tomato paste
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup water
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

1. Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Whisk until smooth.
2. When mixture comes to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring often.
3. Remove pan from heat and cover until cool. Chill and store in a covered container.
Makes 1 1/2 cups.

Perhaps try it leaving the sugar out?  If preserving qualities not so good with out sugar or with sweetners, what about freezing in small containers instead of bottling?

Would the fruit sugar you can get in a supermarket be an alternative?

I wondered that too - you're supposed to be able to use much less as its far sweeter than 'normal' granulated sugar.

It's still sugar...it doesn't matter whether it's fruit, beet or cane............it still gives the same 'sugar rush' to the blood.
