Just returning to an allotment after 25 years of 'just gardening'. I'd forgotten how this stuff takes over your life, but I'm not complaining, I'm loving every minute. Certainly a benefit to my mental health, and my physical health, although my shoulders and arms have been groaning over recent weeks!

Not long doing a share of an allotment myself.  I'm sure the benefits will outweigh the slugs and pigeons.
Lots of useful information on here and from veg growers who actually do it and not just journalists paraphrasing each others words

Yes, muscles do complain more often, once you are no longer young, but hopefully they'll ease off a bit once they get used to the extra exercise. Good luck!
