Asparagus seedlings
« on: November 21, 2018, 14:43 »
Hello.
I sowed seed that I'd collected from my Asparagus (Connover's Colossal) and potted on them individually in the late Spring. Does anyone know if I should/could plant them out now? Or would it be better to overwinter them in their little pots?
Thanks for any advice.

They should be dormant now, so won't do much if you plant them out. Although you could do it now, being such young plants I'd be inclined to keep them potted up and sheltered until spring (March is usually the month for planting out in the UK.)

If your seedlings grew enough to tell which were male and which were female plants, you may want to consider ditching the females if you have more than you need.
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!
