Title: Hatching Turkey's
Post by: ast0001 on April 25, 2011, 22:28
Hi I'm new to hatching Turkey's can anyone give me any pointers, can anyone tell me why the chicks are dying before they hatch. in the first batch we had 2 out of 18 hatch and these next batch of 25 are not looking like anything is happening and they are due today.
They are all fertile and seem to be dying about two weeks!
We really need help! PLEASE!!!!

Hi and welcome! There could be any number of things causing early death - low humidity or low temperature or there may be a bacterial infection there somewhere. Are the eggs dirty before going into the incubator or is the incy not disinfected between egg batches?

Hello ast001, and welcome to the forum  :D
I am not an expert on turkeys or incubators but I'm sure you'll get plenty of good advice here.  I just wanted to wish you good luck with your hatching.  Keep us posted  :)
