A musical evening
« on: December 16, 2020, 19:13 »
Well, I've just had a good hour's singalong of lots of carols with local radio, York Minster is about to start its carols by candlelight at 730, and then I'm abandoning them for a live streamed concert by a folk group called A Winter's Union at 8pm.  It's feeling a bit Christmassy!  :)
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Absolutely!

I was listening to Classic FM the other night (on earphones as it was at 3.30am), and Sam Pittis played Ravel's 'Bolero'!

All I could think about was Bo Derek and Dudley Moore in '10', so that wasn't the sort of carol which makes one feel Christmassy - or perhaps it did..;0)

I always think of Torville and Dean when I hear that. As for one of my favourite Christmas CDS Christmas I like Annie Lennox's "A Christmas Cornucopia."
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

I heard this playing in the background at a Christmas Party a couple of years ago, and just had to get the name of the song from my good friends!

So topical, with several lines and phrases striking a chord at this particular time too!

Went on a supermarket trip a couple of days ago, then I realised how much I had missed hearing all the old favourites.   Came home singing a few  :)  Mrs Bouquet
Birds in cages do not sing  -  They are crying.

Went to my local Gardening Club evening...
