weeds from last year
« on: September 04, 2011, 16:13 »
Last year I had a gang helping me to weed my allotment paths.  I am afraid it was raining so hard they just skimmed the weeds off and put them in a heap,  I covered the heap and now was wondering if I could put the soil on my raised beds.  I don't know if I would have loads of weeds appear!  I don't want to make matters worse, I would rather get rid of the soil somewhere than have loads of weeds apper.  Any ideas?

Were roots skimmed off or just the leafy tops? were the tops very seedy?

Leafy tops should be rotted ok by now but I wouldn't spread it if there were lots of seeds.

If it had perennial roots in it, I wouldn't spread that either :(
