On Tuesday i will be spending 5 days and nights in a small bell tent deep in a woodland retreat in Devon. They will be 11 others though I won't know them as I'm going on my own. We will forage , help each other clean up and cook and have meditation and quiet time. They ask you not to use mobiles or tablet for the whole of your stay. As someone who hasn't got a smart phone and has never been on facebook I'm looking forward to seeing how people cope. Though I know it won't be everyone's cup of tea i can't wait. Bliss.

Well Done, it is not always easy to do things on your own. I too am taking my first holiday completely on my own in August.
How did you find details of such an interesting holiday ? regards Mrs Bouquet

Just googled retreat holidaysin Britain. They were mainly spa retreats but I wanted something more basic. It's called sharpham trust estate in woodland near totnes. They cater for things all year round in barns or the "big house" or in belltents. All women, all men or mixed. :)

That sounds absolutely wonderful! Imagine going to sleep in a tent and being able to hear all the sounds of the night birds. I do hope you have good weather and remember to nab the tent on the highest place just in case!
