brewuk.co.uk have never let me down as yet, seem to have a good range and reasonably priced, offer kits, components, chemicals and stuff.  Really good service too via mail order.  They are based in Salisbury I think.

I have no connection with the firm apart from being a satisfied repeating customer.

The Home Brew Shop is based in Aldershot, and that is reputed to be one of the best Home Brew Shops in the country, just a shame they are so far from me.

There are a number of good mail order shops as well.

All depends what you are looking to buy, some sell just about anything, some specialise on quality ingredients.  If it's grain and hops you are after then the MaltMiller is hard to beat, but there are others.  All the below I have used and are all good companies to deal with.

I am thinking of taking up home brew (did some with a friend about 10 years ago and it was great!). In Chelmsford - anyone know any good places around this way?

Been looking on Freecycle, need to advertise again.

Theres not many HomeBrew shops around this area.

There is a good one based in Colchester

Theres also a shop in Westcliff, but thats a bit pricey.

I would recommend the online retailers, there prices are so low adding the postage on still keeps them below most High Street shops.

If you are looking to brew from raw ingredients then the online shops generally have much fresher stock, especially The Malt Miller who is excellent.
