Pea Protection & Fence

Afternoon All,

I made this yesterday afternoon, and wondered what people think.

Will it keep the birdies off the seedlings, as I have a problem with pigeons..... well I assume they're pigeons.

And do you think it'll be good enough to grow mange tout? I dont bother with normal peas, as I dont have enough space to allocate to them (as people have said you need lots of space to get a decent amount of peas, ala DD)

When weeding, the best way to know if its a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull it.

If it comes out easy, it was a valuable plant !

I put my canes in a row and string lines across. What I normally do (forgot today so will do tomorrow) is put a chicken wire fence around that as I have found that pigeons land and walk in, rather than land next to canes.
The chicken wire remains in place until the peas are a decent height, then it can be used for the next sowing.

Excellant ... I need put something up for my peas. This has given me inspiration. done 2 monty frame for all my beans  plan to grow my cucumbers and sweet pea as well as borlotto and purple french, so excited!

I only grow a few peas as the girls like eating them while they help me in the vegetable garden! the only time they actually eat peas with no protest.
2 Books and No idea!!!  Learning as I go!
