I've never had that happen, normally they add to a clutch then sit but I don't have much experience someone better qualified will comment soon I'm sure. :)

I've noticed 2 of my Buff Orps do that too? I thought it was wierd these extra eggs kept appearing and with the variety of breeds I have can tell who's laid what, so I know it's them doing it!

I've just left them to it, they seem ok otherwise :)

thanks for the help glad mine is not the only one. she is a good layer dont think she has missed a day since december.
 i thought one of the other girls was pushing in and laying, so we moved her in to the maternity ward on her own and still happened oh well
