Early last year I took on 6 ex-bats, early this year took on 4 more (I had lost 3 of last years by then). Then I thought it would be nice to add a splash of colour and got a couple of Speckled Sussex. They settled well and then in August I got my first POLs, an Amber Star and a Copper Black Marans, both now laying. Unfortunately I lost 2 ex-batts and a sussex in September (unrelated deaths)
Long story short, I took a friend to check out some POLs yesterday and ended up bringing home a Skyline and a Bluebell to join my merry throng! Good job I've got a big garden, eh?
That's it now, no more for a while but when I do it'll be back to ex-bats as they were the main reason I started...
