I think this may be a silly questioin, bun when do pumpkins stop growing?! I got a huge one growing ready for halloween, and was wondering when i pick it ready to put in the sun to ripen?

If it's attached to the plant than it will be out in the sun and will ripen.

I'd wait and cut it a few week before the cold weather arrives.
