Seven lovely jars of beetroot chutney, oh i cant wait.

I am NOT sharing a bit. Well maybe Grannie's Brian can have a spoon seen as he appreciates the finer things in life.

Some people like caviar some people just like beetrot  :tongue2:

Seven jars of beetroot sat all in a line.

 :D  :D  :D

I'm the only one who likes chutney in our house so I am still working my way through the batch of pear chutney I made in November 2011! It gets better and better though with age so that I wish I hadn't given so much away so I would hang onto your seven jars!

I do usually give away loads but not this lot they are all mine. Even hubby can keep his mitts off.
I like the sound of the pear is it in the recipe section on here.
We eat a heck of a lot of chutney and my beautiful cupboard shelves are straining under the weight. It wont stop me, there is always a new one to try.

Favourites in the house seem to be
Beetroot
Apple
Marrow and apricot
Rhubarb
Runner bean

Hubby inhales pickled red cabbage a jar at a time. Luckily i have 50 jars still from last year. And my red cabbage have just come up so happy days.

I'll have to dig out the recipe - we had a bumper crop of conference that wouldn't ripen so it was a good way to use them up.
Runner bean chutney eh? Mmmm  :)

Oh I am right with you about the beetroot chutney. Love it. I make  four different types and usually hide my jars in a secret place!!! With tomato and chilli, chunky. with orange and with ginger.

Luckily only OH and I are chutney eaters and I don't have to fight my son for them. (He loves the chilli jam so I have to hide those),

and OH prefers the piccallilli!

The onion marmalade with the thyme sounds good, may have a bash at that one. I do one with sage to go with chicken and pork, a tomato and chilli one, and one with onion seeds and cracked black pepper as well as the plain.
I am going to try and do a red onion with red wine and one with mustard and mustard seeds as soon as I get my next spare moment.
