Grow veg on shed roof
« on: November 02, 2008, 23:12 »
I have limited space in my garden and am interested in growing vegetables on a shed roof.  Obviously this will need to be reinforced to take the extra weight.

Does anyone know of anywhere that sells such sheds as a complete kit?

Does anyone have any plans/instructions that I could use to upgrade a normal shed? :cherry:

Don't know any shed sources, but if you check Gardener's World website, they did such a shed and there should be some info on it. I know that there must be a solid impenetrable membrane on the roof to prevent leakage and roof collapse, as well as good drainage so the plants aren't swimming nor loose all their water.

Thanks for the reply.  That is probably where I got the idea from originaly - so I must look at that article again to see how they did it.

Nice one.  Have a good day.
