Merry Tiller truck
« on: April 20, 2020, 10:00 »
I have been looking for a Merry Tiller truck but haven't been successful. I intend to build one as I have a well equiped workshop. Can anyone help me with the details of the turntable? Is it a straightforward U shaped ring with the chassis tube running inside? Are there any bearings inside it or is it metal to metal with grease for lubrication? If anyone has one and could take some photos of this part I would be grateful.
 Thanks Brian Werrett, Gloucestershire.

The ring is channel iron, bent round into a circle, would require a specialist "ring roller" firm to make it. It is just greased, no bearings. Some used a tubular chassis, others a box section one. It is so complex I suspect professional fab shops would balk at making one.

Hello I've had a word with an agricultural engineer that I know he says if you can give him the dimensions of the ring and the length of the merrytiller model he might be able to make one,if it's one of the last models it'll need the rotor covers removing and the depth skid mounting bracket taking off  as they're slightly longer than the older machines that the truck as built for   jezza
