Title: merry tiller titan
Post by: DaveOH on September 06, 2010, 17:37
I recently stripped down my merry tiller titan. I'm not quite sure on the reassembly of the clutch components. Can anyone post a picture of how they should go back together?

Assuming that it is the L shaped pivot assembly that is the problem, rather than either the jockey pulley or cable, the assembly is as follows:-
The hook bolt 38 and split pin 37 go through L shaped pivot rod 36, washers 22 and spring 23 go onto it. The pivot rod is then pushed through the hole in the chaincase, bracket 20 and lug on chassis rail 26. Lever 19 is screwed onto the rod far enough for the locknut 17 to be screwed on as well.
Initial clutch setting is:-
Fit the spring on the handlebar lever through the middle link in the chain attached to the cable. Screw nut 39 onto the hook bolt so that the hook bolt is just through it, fit the belt and cable, take the slack out of the cable and lift the jockey pulley against the belt, then tighten locknut 17 against lever 19.

Thank you, I had the lever the wrong way round.
