It's becoming an increasing problem, alongside box blight.

I have no experience to offer, but the RHS has a page on it:
https://www.rhs.org.uk/biodiversity/box-tree-caterpillar
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Hello I'd say try a Permethrin (pyrethrum )based insecticide mixed at the absolute correct dose and water it around the roots, make sure the soil is damp as the liquid would run off dry soil ,not environmentally friendly, please dont take old gardeners advise to just slip  the liquid into a watering can and add water    jezza

If it is a caterpillar, try Bacillus thuringiensis, a.k.a. Dipel, Thuricide, or just "BT".  Environmentally friendly.
