Good idea Splodger, I think Bodger suggested something similar a while ago but nothing seems to have come of it.

i found a few simple designs - thought i could adapt them to use up the chestnut offcuts - where dad messes up on splitting for shingles

i have a head full of designs - and neither the time nor the body to do them all, but i shall try

Was it on here, or maybe I read it in a magazine that alot of those bee 'homes' are really only good for the parasitic wasps that lay eggs inside the bee -- the bees are usually solitary, but the 'homes' create an artifical environment, making it easier for the parasite to infect several hosts instead of just one.

Oh yes, I didn't mean it to put anyone off the idea of them, but I did think it was interesting.

I'm so glad this question was asked (about pruning - not bug boxes -althought that was interesting too) as I have been thinking about when I should do mine, so now I have my answer.  :D
Lynne.

So much to do, but so little time.

They are very simple to prune, but very easy to ruin if you do it wrong.
