« on: March 10, 2007, 16:27 »
I planted some leek seeds in modules in a propagator and put them on my windowsill. They germinated a few days ago and are now about 2 inches tall.
What do i do now??

I have bought some bigger pots and was going to transfer them into them and keep them on the windowsill but am not sure if this is the right think to do??

Please help!!!!

Try to get them hardened off and eventually out of doors.  Reduce the temperature in 2 or 3 stages, and keep them in full light.  If you have any leek seed left, resow out of doors in case you lose them.

Whisky's right.....get some planted into a seedbed and you can transplant them when they are about pencil thick to their growing positions! :)

Unless they are sown very densely i would'nt transplant into bigger pots
Get them outside as much as possible to harden them off. You can plant them out when they are not much bigger than blades of grass or leave them untill the roots begin to look pot bound. Plant them out into holes dibbed into the ground and then just water the roots in. In the north they will have leeks well established in trenches by now.
As the great Percy Thrower used to say
" OI THINK THE ANSWER LIES IN THE SOIL"
