Bumblyquail Babies
« on: May 12, 2010, 21:29 »
18 days ago the lovely Phil (Spider) gave me some quail eggs that have been in the incy since.

Well I got in from work this morning and this little fella had just popped out.

and then he was joined by this little one.

By the time I left for work 8 out of 9 had hatched and the 9th has pipped so hopefully be out when I get home.
All except the first look the same so will be interesting to see how they turn out.

Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

Well the final one is out and fluffing ip on the incy as we speak (not that we are acyually speaking!). That's 9 of 9 hatched which is pretty fab so thank you again Phil. They all seem to be doing well although there is one that has a bit of a funny foot. Seems to be hobbling round ok and it does seem to be getting better so will give it a day or two before making any decisions on it.
