My Dad always used to use it,said it was easy & clean to use. I suppose you get a set amount of minerals each time, downside for me is you have to buy it whereas I get manure delivered free.

It seems high in Nitrogen, by the look of the leeks I grew ::) So probably good for the brassica bed - which is where I'll use the rest of it ;)

Excellent stuff!
We always use it, either in handfuls - say a couple per sq yd, or, even better, by putting a few handfuls in a plastic bag, poking a few holes in the bag, and hanging it in a water butt. It's a great liquid manure, and perfect for leeks especially!
We always have some around the Patch and also at home, as it takes up little room too!
It won't do much for bulking out your soil though, you do need other compost to do this.

Thanks everyone :)

Excellent stuff! Just found it on the Greenfingers site at £10.99 for a 15L bag, is that good? :)
-
It depends on the postage. Ebay has 20kg for £19 with free postage. Don't know what Greenfingers would charge.

Thanks Surbie, postage was £4.50ish, so it worked out about £12.50 each for 3 bags of multipurpose. Around the same on ebay (£25.99 for 30L), but it didn't come up in my first search ::) Well, at least I have smaller bags, so easier to carry and store... :)

Am I missing something - It looks to be just chicken manure ?
-
Yup it even smells like it :D
It's just fibrous rather than pellets.

I'm sure I've used it in pellet form too. Excellent for fertilising, ads little of the humus a good load of muck will though.
