seed dibber
« on: May 08, 2019, 15:38 »
Ok I was a little bored and after breaking up a load of palletts for both kindling for the winter months and storing the better pieces for the plot I came up with an idea.
So I now have a 1 metre length piece of pallett which has been drilled and dowls placed to spacings 2 inch (radish and various other small crops) 4 inch, 6 inch and 9 inch, each side of the piece of wood has its own spacing and the dowls set at the correct depth for the seed.

The idea is as follows.... I sow say radish seed each week, I press the dibber into the ground and the correct depth/ spacing is achieved for that particular crop and it is straight, just pop the seed in and sprinkle a little sand to fill.  ;)

Why not just use a dibber to make a small trech I here you say, well the advantage is I dont disturbed as much soil therefore reducing the effect of weed seed being activated  8) Clever Eh!
Punk isn't dead...it's underground where it belongs. If it comes to the surface it's no longer punk...it's Green Day!
