May be a daft question, but..
« on: October 31, 2012, 13:13 »
Is it so necessary for them to have layers pellets when they have stopped laying ? e.g. old age, winter etc.
Can I be a little less strict with them during this time of year?
El.

if they are mixed in with laying hens then stick to layers pellets.
What else was you thinking of feeding them? Layers does provide the vitamins and minerals needed for a healthy hen.
Staffies are softer than you think.

None of them are laying at the moment. I thought that maybe the concentration of calcium in the layers might do more harm than good if they're not laying.
I was thinking I might mix in some mixed corn with the layers.

only a couple of mine are laying the other 16 are resting over winter but they all still get layers as their main feed - the calcium will help their bones.
