lupins advice

I grew some from last years seed they are now about 4" high would they be ok to plant out now ready for next year??
some people are like slinkys......they're really good for nothing, but they still bring a smile to your face as you push them down the stairs!!

Should survive - but don't expect them to be too much like the plants from which the seed was saved as most lupins are F1 hybrid Russel Lupins which are generally unlikely to breed true!

Good idea to get them into the ground while there is (supposed to be!) warmth in te ground, then they will be able to settle before going dormant for the winter.

OK thanks, not bothered what colour they are as theyare  to go in a border that the council NEVER look after so I am doing it my self with cuttings and my own propagated plants  :)

IMHO, I would re-pot if necessary, over-winter and re-pot again in spring. The slugs and snails are rather active now and they might not survive at that size.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Hi Goosegirl I did think that as they have already been munched while they have been in my grow house so maybe I will wait until the spring  :D
