Holly hedge advice needed.
« on: August 26, 2020, 15:06 »
I'm planning on planting a holly hedge against a stone wall as a backdrop to a few acers and other perennials. I want the Ilex aquifolium but how do I ensure I get berries? I know you need male and female ones but how can you tell if you have a mixture?
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

The only way to know for sure is to buy plants big enough to bear flowers.  Then you can pick some that have berries and some that don't  :)
