Title: Fertiliser
Post by: noshed on May 04, 2007, 14:20
Is liquid seaweed OK for fertilising tomatoes, until my comfrey gets bigger? How often do you fertilise other stuff, like spuds? I've been using BF&B and pelleted chicken manure at random intervals. But my peas do look a bit yellow.
I dug in manure and compost this autumn but I'm thinking things need a bit more of a boost. My rasberries are certainly looking better for dosing with chicken manure and compost mulch over the winter.
I'm wondering about putting some seaweed extract in all my watering-can water from now on.
The soil is clay/loam.

I may be wrong here but I regard liquid seaweed as a provider of trace elements rather than a fertiliser per se.  Since you aren't organic then Tomorite would be my suggestion for youtr tomatoes until your comfrey is ready.

Think your right WG, I used it a couple of years ago got good results when used with a tomato feed. Plants seemed stronger and greener.
