I received some left over plug plants of sweetcorn from a friend of mine, but they're in tiny little plugs (about 2cm deep and across) - I don't think the conditions here are suitable yet for planting them out - should I pot them on? Does this disturb sweetcorn?

Mine have been out for a few weeks now. I would start to harden them off and get them out. They tend to shoot up fairly quickly once they get going so you might have to pot them on if you are planning on keeping them out of the ground for a while. I guess it is a balance between disturbing them twice to pot on and then plant out or plant out a bit quicker than you are happy with. As I say mine have been out and are doing ok.

Mine have also been out for 3 weeks and are growing really well, they are about 15in high already.
I am a little worried about the strong wind we have at the moment, but they have been staked well so should be ok. I would chance putting them out, and if worried cover them with fleece if the temperature drops.

I'd pot them on into 3 or 4in pots and let them get bigger before planting out.
Get them in about the 3rd week June. I've got some in but I've also got some that were started 2 weeks ago and they will go ín when the winter onions come out.
