Please use this thread from January 1st 2012.

The 2011 thread will be "unstickied" on the same day.
.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

You've got to get up early to beat me!

I was hoping 14 hours before the event might have clinched it.

Tee Hee... my first post of 2012  :D

Just been chased away from the plot by a rainstorm - rather muddy now. I went to finish the paving I started yesterday but just too much mud..  :(
Now a member of the 10 Ton club.... 2013  harvested 588 Kg from 165 sq mt..

Spent a couple of hours down the plot this morning tidying up and catching up with things like adding lime/bonemeal where required.

With the rotten benches demolished, the wood burned on Boxing Day and the metal now on its way to the scrap man, the only jobs that need doing are spreading compost and edging up. A day when it is drier under foot is required for those.

Next time there is a pleasant morning when I am free in the next week I will clear the creeping ivy back under the plot hedges - lot of self seeded stuff that needs moving out of the way.

Ventured to the plot after being too muddy and wet yesterday to finish laying the slabs that I started the other day.. All done now and just got to fill in a few gaps with mortar. Looks much better than when I had the temp broken slabs there.

I also added a small peak to the roof sticking out as a veranda.. just so I can stand under in the shed doorway in the rain without getting wet whilst surveying my garden.

That looks great Gavin --- you just need some sides to the peak to keep the wind off when you are sittin there in the rain, having a cuppa  :D

Spent three hours digging out a new bed measuring 4 by 10 foot. Not helped in any part by a network of Silver Birch roots!  >:(

Not been to the plot today but I've spent most of the day in the garden starting my winter tidy up & clearing the finished plants aided & abetted by my son's dog. Also planted up a pot of winter bedding as a gift for a friends birthday on Friday & then one for me with the plants that were left over.
