what should i look for when candling my eggs [ 1st hatch]

Depends what your hatching

Duck eggs are easy, by day two if they are viable the yolk glows orange, it's fantastic to see Then by day 5 you'll see a little red dot with spidery veins coming from it by Day 6/7 (yes as soon as that) you can see the eye 

Chicken eggs depending on the shell colour are a bit more tricky (from my experience) but by day 6/7 you should be able to see a red blob and veins coming from it

This is a picture of a duck egg at I think 4/5 days. It's alot clearer with your eye the camera doesn't give the full picture if you know what I mean
