This is in my back garden.  Nothing is showing yet after a week but I know they took quite a while to come through last year.  I'm just wondering if the 3 tier being outdoors will provide adequate protection against frost?  Last year I started them indoors but this year space in the house is more of an issue.

Any thoughts anyone?

Spinach is another one that does not like heat, like brassicas and it ideally suited for direct sowing.

JayG gave us a link to this Germination rate v Temperature chart.

Note that spinach peaks at 41oF (5oC).

It has no need to be inside.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
