everytime I post a question on the chicken parts of this forum I usually get an answer/reply in a very short time. sadly the homebrew section is disappointing. almost dead infact it's been days now and still no replies.
Thanks chicken people for being so quick

Guess it is quite frustrating though when you want the answer to something, maybe it's more of a weekend site. Don't know what I'm talking about really, just an idea

I think that comment is very unfair.

This is not a home-brew forum and is targeted at the home-grower and poultry keeper. Comparatively there are very few home brewers than growers/keepers.

Most of those who post in there are frequent posters in the main forums and are very helpful there.

36 views, no replies in 6 days. I suppose you could have had 36 replies of "no". I can't believe that if someone reading that had had said experience that they would have ignored it.

I suggest that for this type of specialist question, you go to a home-brew forum. I doubt that if someone on a home-brew forum wanted to ask a question on tomatoes or chickens, that they'd post on there.

as far as not knowing the answer to a question which you find hard to believe
it is equally hard to believe that 17 people on the home brew section have never bottled a wine before.
Anyway all I was saying was that I was so happy when I saw the home brew section as the chicken forums have been invaluable in my early hen keeping days I don't know what I would have done withought them and was just dissapointed that the home brew section wasn't as active

It is a sub-section, but there for the benefit of  the minority of the membership, as I said before, in the main we exist for growers & poultry keepers.

I'm not a betting person, but I'd put all my money on there being a time when you'd not bottled some home brewed wine.

I have posted on the home brew bit before and was recommended a good book and then bought all the equipment from wilko. I guess it depends very much on the question and who is active on the forum at the time. Don't give up hope there may be an answer soon you never know

Don't let this one degenerate into one of "those" posts, so that wolverine feels he isn't welcome here.  And if you remember DD, in the beginning, this was just allotment growing, then us garden veg growers joined, then the poultry people came along, and look at us now, we talk about everything under the sun!

It's just that in the main its veg, fruit and poultry.

I don't get into the homebrew section much wolverine, as I rarely do anything by the book! lol   I make what I like and I do it my way, so I'd probably get shot down in flames if I went onto the homebrew bit too much!!

Pound to a penny it was this, I seem to recall it being mentioned. We don't homebrew now, but 35 years ago when we did, the was the "bible".
