I just had to share my good news. By pure fluke a chap and his wife came to get a table through freecycle from me today and took the table and both of my drake Aylesbury's. They certainly have gone to a good home as this couple clearly are animal mad. You think we are anoraks well this chap and his wife far out stretch us. Dogs, horses rheas, chickens, ducks, a pig...wonderful. I've even looked at their set up on You Tube and it looks like my boys are going to a fabulous home. I'm just so glad as I was going to dispatch them next week. Happy endings.

When I let the three Kaki Campbell girls out this morning two were just fine but one went plaintively quacking and calling all round the field looking for her boys. I feel rotten for her but these three girls are going to have a new husband soon. Some friends down the road have two drakes that they brought up since they were ducklings and have been treated as pets, in the house and cuddled on the sofa! Of course now they have found they have two boys they need to find a new home for one and hopefully he will make a grand husband for my girls and his old pond mate will have some new wives provided to.
