Well Done! and Congratulations!

You've just started down a terrifying, exhausting and wonderful path. Just follow your instincts, use common sense and ignore the baby manuals because the baby hasn't read them!.

Just be grateful the birthday parties can all happen outside.

Congratulations. You have stepped onto the path of parenthood. We are just coming to the end of the childhood road and staring onto the parenting adults one. I think I can truly say your little one will bring you so much joy. You will fall in love and just when you think they cannot get any lovelier they do all they way to adulthood!

Scrambled egg seems like a pretty good baby food. I have absolutly no idea what to do and neither does mrs wolverine so all tips / advice welcome. ( yes I know this is a chicken forum not a baby forum) Like everything in life I will jump in the deep end and figure out how to swim once I start to drown.

The mother in law yesterday was trying to get me to give her my hens when the baby is born because of the flies. I told her where to stick that idea obviously.
flies were a problem last year in the hottest months and she got my thinking. we have a small garden and the red top fly catcher last year stank so that's not a popular one with mrs wolverine.
even with a daily hose of the patio we were over run. I just hope we can make this work I would hate to have to give the girls up.  :(  it's got me in a flap now
i think I will look into moving house  :)

My house stands in a half acre and in the summer I had 3 red tops out. The only time we noticed any smell is if you got close to them so place yours well away from the chickens and the house. I also use hemcore as it is citronella scented which helps a little to combat the flies and is very absorbant. Good animal husbandry is what you will need to practise and the benefit of really fresh eggs will make it seem really worth it  :D
