I have various paths running through my allotment which are being slowly swapmed by weeds despite about a foot of woodchips!
If I water Glysophate directly onto the paths, will it kill only the weeds or is it likely to affect the adjacent beds as well? My understanding is that it will only kill the plants it comes into direct contact with.
Thanks

That's it - just don't put it on anything you want to keep :)

My runners died at one end one year. I had not been using glyphosate, but my neighbour had.

Don't bother spraying the paths it just wastes it. Just spray on vegetation you want to die!!

I shall wait for a calm day and be specific then! Thanks

I like to have a large sheet of cardboard (ex-Box) on the side away from any breeze so that it catches any stray-spray, and if I see it getting damp I know its drifting ... can use it as a barrier when I want to get close to a plant too.

If you use a watering can with a sprinkle bar you can cover a much more controlled and restricted area. Spray drift often goes much further than you can see even in the slightest breeze and I would not use a sprayer with glyphosphate anywhere near a crop I wanted to keep. However I think glyphosphate is a very useful weapon if used carefully.
