Usual advice is to put door to east (if aligned E-W) or N (if aligned N-S) to reduce wind ( ???). I think it's much more important to never leave it - or any vents - open if high winds are forecast.

Agree with Savbo (also probably worth not having the opening vent facing west for the same reason, especially if fitted with an auto-opener as on warm, windy days you can't close it without disconnecting it.)

Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

Don't forget to try and get as much light all round it as you can...and remember drain pipes and bins for the water.

my home greenhouse is a 6x6 (al the lottie I have a 12x8 and an 8x6). I find it fine for getting things growing and for a few hanging tomatoes... but as everyone says, always get the biggest greenhouse you can possibly afford (and mine were £100, £50 and free respectively) as once you start you ALWAYS want more space!

how are you fixing the greenhouse down? other posters have said it's often easier to fix the greenhouse to substantial timbers (3"x3" at least) and fix those to the slabs, rather than fix direct to the concrete

Whichever you choose, fix it down well, won't you

We have had some sailing greenhouses at our site recently --- one hopped over four or five plots before settling in a heap

You could buy a Poly Tunnel with Storm Braces + Crop Bars + Anchor Plates.
I know users who have them near the sea front and they don't blow over.
More to do with aero-dynamics.
