i have one hen that has been bullied ,and one eye is closed and the other is halfclosed, with a bit of dark blood around her head . i only noticed as she wouldnt leave the coop.i did notice two hens attacking her ,when i put her in the run
i have taken her out from the rest  of them now .  i was going to see he she heals up over the next week and then reintroduce them ,.

pecking order squabbles can get quite nasty.  :(

If you have a lead bully hen then it might be a good idea to remove that hen temporarily and reintroduce her again in a few days when she will have to work her own way back up the pecking order.

I think you may need to clean the blood off your bullied hen and spray any red or raw-looking areas with purple spray (it really is called that though it is in fact gentian violet).  This acts as an anti-septic and disguises the red/pink colour.  Red or raw pink areas can provoke pecking frenzies in the other hens.  I would not keep her separate from the flock for too long if possible.

Some people here have used anti-pecking spray.

I am not an expert and I'm sure someone with more experience than me will be along to advise you.  In the meantime good luck and keep us posted.

make sure you worm them all and also clean up any droppings  :)
Staffies are softer than you think.

I'm no expert but surely any infestation put in the compost bin would either be killed off by heat or carnivorous wrigglies or just lack of host in the life-cycle as long as it's left for a long time and out of contact with the hens. (I understand red mite can live for 6 months with no host and flea eggs in the carpet can stay dormant for years) However compost is spread on the growing crops which should be away from the chooks anyway.
I have probably put infested litter in my compost unwittingly.
