I've just put a couple of eggs under my broody hen (called Albertine/Bertie).
They are mixed bantams and black pekins . Hope I will be on here in 3 weeks time giving you all good news!! ;).
I'm going to transfer some under my other broody (called Rosie) a little later because she was sitting on a cracked egg and has become all sticky, so I'll have to give her a quick warm bath.
Has anyone got any photos of mixed bantams because I'd like to see what they might turn out to look like. I expect there are lots of photos, but post them all on here!

Do you know what the mixed bantams parentages are? there are so many different breeds of bantams (although to be honest there isn't many true bantams - these are bantams that have no large fowl equivelent). I have silkie crosses (these make fantastic broody hens usually) and lemon millefluer sablepoot bantams as well as my large fowls. I guess you will just have to wait around 3 weeks to see what they hatch like and then wait until they get their true feathers to see the end result.
So today is Day 0 for you hatches and the chicks could hatch anytime from day 18 through to day 24.

No, I don't know what their parentages are. I guess I'll have to wait and see :).
I suppose it's more exciting not knowing what they will turn out like .

and even after hatching they will still keep you guessing - Dannii one of my silkie crosses had sickle feathers, large wattles and a bigger comb plus pointed ended feathers around the neck so was called Danny. Then he lost the sickle feathers and started to lay eggs . Danny has hatched 7 araucana eggs for me this year and is now broody again ::)

Joe, (our first chick) is an orpington buff x silver laced wyandotte. It was fascinating seeing him grow and has turned out to look like a bit like a light sussex!! ???
Here's Joe as a chick:
