ex tatty tubs, what to grow next?

in my tubs that have had tatties in whats safe to plant in the tubs next. Would beetroot and carrot be ok? and what else please? Also would i need to add anything back to the compost?

Hi there, I had this issue last year and put 3 bush type tomato plants into each tub. Worked very well, I had so much fruit before the blight went and got the lot  :(

I wondered about this too, but came to the conclusion that I'd empty them and start again. I might try adding fertilizer to the compost I turn out, but haven't decided yet. Havent pulled the spuds yet anyway, so guess I've more time to think on the matter
