Storing apples
« on: September 16, 2018, 22:28 »
Over the last couple of weeks when I have been down on my plot, I noticed one of the small columnar apple trees was heavily laden with fruit, so much so that it was bent down to the ground (evidently it needs some support). I have picked the ripe ones and now have a lot of apples which will take me maybe a few weeks to get through. How long can freshly picked apples be left in a fruit bowl, or is there a way of storing them so that they keep for a month or two. When I buy apples at my local market, then start to go wrinkly after a week.
