Title: plum tree

last year my plum tree was very heavy with fruit.... then a heavy rainstorm broke some
branches. these i tidied up in december.
my tree now has no blossom??? is this because of what happened?
will it be ok next year? it has plenty of new growth and leaves.... :unsure:

It is not unknown for trees to be biennial fruiting. I have a golden delicious which gives a shed load of aplles one year an none the next??

it had fruit for the last couple of years.. tree looks healthy but after a few branches broke no blossom
this year ....

I've had a plum trees for years last year was bundles of fruit on it this year no flowers whatsoever no plums I don't know why this is happened

1st always prune/ cut back plum trees in the height of summer, if done in the winter it is then prone to silver leaf or canker disease.

As others have said sonetines you will get the odd year with no fruit, having said that touch wood I have always had fruit every year
