Hello everyone, please sould you advise me on this spud question?
I have bought some main crop seed potatoes, they are king edwards, the farm shop had sold out of early potatoes so i was wondering if i could plant them soon. I have got them in an egg box waiting for them to chit.
I have grown spuds before and got a great crop, they were called rocket.
My mum seems to think its too early to plant main crop..help!
Thanks

You can plant them now and for main crop there is no need to chit them (can if you want though).

Make sure to earthup the shoots as they grow to protect them from late frosts.

Thanks Aunt sally.

I am going to plant them in my allotment this year. I planted them in my raised bed in the garden last year and got a bumper crop so am hoping they do well in my allotment.
Thanks for the quick reply :)
