I did a simple poem which will go out for Christmas

I decided this year to do things properly
So the kids made invites and mummy wrote a weee rhyme to go inside, formally inviting the family around rather than them just assuming they could come LOL

I am no poet but its the idea of something different I wanted, enjoy dont be too hard I tried my best, I have some bits I want to work on and improve but the base is ready.

Please come to ours for dinner
This very Christmas day
As Jude’s been making chutney
And we can’t give it away.

We’ll serve you food a plenty
And drinks if you desire
We’ll even let you warm your toes
Upon our garden fire

The starter is all ready
The recipes we’ve tried
And when we say we’ve had enough
The left-overs are fried

The turkey comes accompanied
We want to fill your belly
And we are sure you will enjoy
The sloe and brambly jelly

Chris has grown potatoes
They are doing rather well
And if they keep on growing
They promise to be swell

The cheese board is all sorted
With pickles all in date
We want to tickle your taste buds
With another chutney plate

Of course there is the pudding
A treat that can’t be missed
And if Jude forgets her glasses
You’ll all go home half p*****

We want to share the day with you
And hope you will attend
And if you can’t please let us know
Chutney parcels we will send

Brilliant!  That is just the kind of thing I love.  Good on you for taking the trouble to write the poem and geting the kids to do the invites.  I am ablsolutley sure your family will love it (I know I would).

We all have wings but some of us don't know why.
