Went out to the little hen rescue today and picked up 4 ex batts and one light Sussex cockerel, ive also requested to volunteer there at weekends as i feel sorry for them  . anyway onto the batts, they arnt as bad as some ive seen but they do need some good lovin' i will post some pictures at some point.

That's great news.  You will have a lovely time with your new girls (and boy!).  Good luck with them.  I wish I could volunteer but there is no where near me that does that sort of thing.

yes I read on another post you were getting some more rescues from little hen rescue, don't forget we want photos of when you get them and then more showing their progress of how they become happy well feathered girls  . My rescues weren't too bad at all (as they were ex free rangers just floppy combed and had most of their feathers).
A local poultry farmer to me (5 mins walk) is very good - their girls free range (and they have planted lots of trees for them) plus they have a hospital ward for any that get injured.
