Pots in grow bags.
« on: May 01, 2012, 19:16 »
If I have pots in grow bags can I just add water to the bags directly, if I do this how will I know if the roots are deep enough to find it?  Also should I also put holes in the bags to allow excess water to drain away?

right if i where you i would put a plastic bottle in the pots and water the plants through them - this ensures that the water goes straight to the roots, to answer your other question - growbags usually have holes in them, but if you cant find any then pierce the bottom ;)

hope thats helped?

feed with fertilizer into the pots and water into the grow bag  Put drain holes half way down the side of the grow bag

When planting toms in pots on growbags, i give each plant a pint of water through the pot. They are not watered then for a week which is meant to force the plants into establishing well and searching for water. From then on they are watered via a 5 inch pot in the middle of the growbag, and a little around the stem so stop it drying out.
