Someonegave me 15 strawberry plants in pots but we've no idea what they are. Can i put some in big pots and some on the allotment and how big do they need to be before i transplant them

"Bung 'em in now"  hardy little blighters!   Maybe it would help them gain strength if you didn't take any berries this year.  Cheers,   Tony.

I bought some of the Strawberry plants that were in Aldi a few weeks ago, then when in there a few days later I bought some more (at least thought I did).

Planted the first lot and put a cloche over them to give them somewhere cosy to get them going. Went to get the second lot but couldn't find them, thinking senior moment I guessed I'd only bought the one lot.

Two weeks later I found them in a cardboard box in the dining room. Her indoors had tidied up. They'd had two weeks in the dark in a centrally heated room. The roots were bone dry and several of them had spindly light green leaves.

I soaked them in water for a few hours then put them in an unheated greenhouse still in their plastic bag. They've been there for a week.

Today I planted them out, they all have nice plump leaf buds and lots of new white roots.

Hardy little blighters is an understatement.
