I have just spent the evening fabricating some new tines for the Honda(8 outters). I thught it was going to be done in just about an hour. Two and half hours later I still have the  bolt holes to drill. And have yet to make the 6 middle ones which are not as worn as the outer ones so might have to go on for a while. I also made the template and one tine for the drum rotors only another 15 to go. As I have not been able to buy new ones, I am pleased with the progress even if its slow.

An hour is pretty good going, though it depends when you start and stop the clock.  . What material did you make them from?

Material was 6mm black plate (hot rolled) I tryed to get EN 16 but it only comes in bar.

i welded flat bar onto a set of my tines and have had no problems at all
better than paying £60 for a set

Hi  Shaun I am very pleased, they dig to about 200mm on the first pass. Not achieved before and without much effort on the engine. Can you view the video ??

All ended it disaster, I got ambitious and went faster and the blades are all bent, they just crumbled

Rotor blades are not mild steel, they are tempered and hardened. Even the Mantis blades which look like pressed steel sheet are hardened and tempered. Mantis guarantee them for life against breakage, which might happen if they are too hard.
